Not-A-Long-Post-Alert
#LongIsRelative.... :)

You all know that for some years now we have been helping previously out of school children get back to the classroom to learn. And, while we have some of these sponsored children in other private schools in Lagos State, we have others who attend our established, non profit school - #HelpersAcademy.

Thus far, one of our major challenges with the children we serve has been lack of recommended textbooks. As only one child in every 15 students own a textbook (Maximum of 4! ). It has been pretty frutile exercise asking guardians/parents to buy textbooks. They seldom do, because (1) some of them feel it is our responsibility to provide textbooks (practically, everything!) because we persuaded them to release their ward/children to school. They were not ready for it. We came knocking on their doors to have the children. So, we gotta fix it!!??! (2) Other parents/guardians who truly cannot afford the cost.

Consequently, our (amazing) teachers are saddled with greater tasks of ensuring that every child learns equally. God bless'em.
Now this...
A few weeks ago,  I was reading through comments on a Facebook group, when I stumbled on a post by someone, who had recommended our organization as a good place for parents to donate textbooks to! Hey! I cleared my eyes.. No,  I don't need glasses...now but,   How did he know?? Who told him? His name is so unfamiliar, we aren't friends on Facebook?  My curiosity got me reading further  lol. :P :P Thank you, @Charles Chukwu. You are an angel.

Well, to cut the loong story short, today one of the parents invited us to her home to pick some textbooks for the children we serve. So, we have some neatly used textbooks with a new pair of lovely school sandals.

Interestingly, one of our teachers and I have an idea of who gets the sandals. "Maybe, Maradesa our little friend who hasn't been in school for 2weeks because she has no sandals to put on or Mary? Or Favour?

Thank you,  Mrs. Omokore Deborah. We 😍 you. Our deepest appreciation also to everyone  who got our back. Thank you very much. God bless.
