How 24 young people transited to High School from our Tuition Free School for Out of School Children....

 

The 5th Graduation Ceremony and Christmas Party organized by Street to School Initiative in partnership with the IVLP Alumni Association was held on Saturday, 19th of December, at the Comenius Nursery and Primary School, Ikola Odunsi. The Special Guests for the occasion were Mrs. Adetoun Tade, President, IVLP Alumni Association; Mr. Tunde Majiyagbe, Snr Manager, Stanbic IBTC Bank, Pst Jubril Kosoko, Founder, Behavioural & Addiction Control Initiative (BACI).

 

A total of 24 pupils were awarded their testimonials, photobook and gifts by the IVLP team. The program which started exactly at 12noon, was launched with an opening prayer, by the vice president of the PTA, Mrs. Amos. This was followed by processional hymn, national anthem and the introduction of guests.

Mr. Tunde Majiyagbe addressed the participants on the value of education, and also, spoke about the needs to stay safe, this season. Thereafter, he donated some customized washable face-masks from the Association of Asset Custodian of Nigeria (AACN). Other speaker, and Founder of BACI, addressed the pupils on the distractions to avoid on the path to leading a successful life.

 

 

The children who dressed in their best, with face paint designs, brought a festive look to the school, with, the graduating pupils adorned in gowns to commemorate their passing out of primary school.

The party was ignited by music and sound huzzling from the DJ’s speakers, this had the delectable president of IVLP Alumni Association danced graciously with the children.

Other highlights of the program, was the recitation of 325-word poem by a primary 5 pupils, Aminat Bakare. And, the cutting of the cakes by the IVLP team, in attendance were, Mrs Saudat, Mrs. Emmanuella Akinola, Mr. Joseph, Mrs. Olasumbo Adeleke and Tosin Olowoyeye-Taiwo. The next few minutes of the program were used by Emmanuella and Saudat to address the children and their mothers respectively.

The program which started at 12:00noon came to a close at 28 minutes past 4pm after meal was served, and Christmas gifts distributed. There was a huge representation of the community children, parents and guardians. More than 180 children were in attendance. Our deep appreciation to EVERY Donor and Partner.
