Commissioning of Surulere PHC, Alagbado by the Embassy of Japan.

"Over the years, our experience in working with vulnerable children and women
have put us in better perspective to be a VOICE wherever it matters. We have had our fair share of experiences, and these experiences are common denominators, they cut across in all rural communities

Firstly, we understand what it is for a child to come to school without breakfast, nor any provision for lunch because the parents/guardians cannot afford it.

We know how it feels to lose a 7 years old pupil, because we lost one in 2017 when
the parents could not afford private health care service. Our little girl died in the
church.

On February 20th, 2018. Another sponsored child lost his mum, because she could not access health care in good time, and when she eventually did, there were no
available beds in the hospital were mama was transferred to. Mama returned home, and died the next day.

We all know that the importance of accessibility to quality healthcare in rural
communities cannot be over emphasized. We all know that a sick child cannot learn
well in school. We know accessibility to good care is key. It is critical to good health.
And, no child deserves to die like little Mary, because they could not access one."
