2023 Key Initiatives and Impact Stories..

Thank you for your invaluable support which has been instrumental in propelling our initiatives forward. Herewith are the highlights of the initiatives that we embarked on in the year 2023. We look forward to further collaboration and achievements. Thank you. 2023 Key Initiatives and Impact Stories 1. Rekindling hope through education sponsorship of 71 out-of-school children. 2. Bi-monthly visit to sponsored students in Private primary and high schools to monitor progress and witness the impact of educational support. 3. Sponsorship of 10 vulnerable primary school pupils for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) – Common Entrance. 4. Commissioning of a new free learning Centre in Ilorin, Kwara State. Currently, there are 55 learners in school. Partner: Funmi Nehan Foundation (February) 5. Distribution of learning materials such as Computer Textbooks, Notebooks, Shoe sandals socks, School bags, textbooks to learners in Lagos and Kwara state. Partners: Do Good Charity, The Face Foundation and DataKlinic Associates, MACI Steam Up, and FiyinfOluwa Asenuga. 6. Full University Sponsorship for two students – Timothy and Joshua who gained admission to study Mathematics and Dentistry at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta and the University of Lagos, respectively. Joshua scored 306 in UTME. 7. Seven of our learners participated in the National Abacus and Chess Competition organized by the Unimas Academy. Three of them won the First, Second and Third position. 8. Zero Interest Loan for 5 rural women in business. Partner: LesOjubana Foundation. 9. 55 youths and school drop-outs were sponsored for the General Certificate Examination (GCE), while 2 were sponsored for the West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination. 10. Organized a Professional Development Training for 350 teachers in partnership with the U.S Consulate, PSSDC, and the STL Trustees within the timeframe of 5 months, May – October. 11. Distributed cereal meal (Weetabix) as received from the British Women’s Group, to over 250 children in Lagos and Kwara State 12. School Feeding Program was implemented from September– December 2023. 13. Basit Adewale Kamoru, the pioneer beneficiary of Street to School Initiative (2012) graduated from High School with Five A1s, Two Bs and Two Cs. He received sponsorship from Nursery through secondary school. 14. Over 300 families were provided meal during the Christmas on the Street program in December. 7 families received Christmas Gift Hampers, Clothing, Live chicken etc. 15. Learning Field trip to the United States Consulate in commemoration of the Martin Luther King Day and the Children’s Day. We had our learners from Primary and Secondary School attend the two events at the Consulate in the month of June & August. 16. One of our GCE Beneficiary won full scholarship to study Cyber Security in India. 17. Participation of our students at the Annual Kidsport Charity Cup where 16 Medals were won from different games such as football, game of Ludo, EggRace, Relay Race etc. 18. At the close of the year, the organization recognized and awarded 9 volunteers for their kind support and service for humanity, 1 Child Sponsor, 1 Best Teacher and 2 Corporate Organizations (STL Trustees and LesOjugbana Foundation). Special thanks and admiration to our board members, donors, child sponsors, investors, team leads, volunteers, friends and other stakeholders. We are deeply thankful for every support.
